RAN
RAN is the first LP from composer / producer Rafael Kiewning dedicated to the Asian cinema. The Japanese director's work completely analyzed from a musical point of view. A concept album based on films from the acclaimed film director sucha as Ran, Rashomon and Throne of Blood.
Traditional instruments such as Taikos, Shamisen and Kotos merge with grooves, electronic leads and guitars creating intense atmospheres in each track.
The album reflects the Kurosawa's epic and visual strength through traditional Japanese music combined with Western tonality and electronic instrumentation. The use in almost all the songs of the Miyakobushi scale serves as a bridge between the ear, universal, and our brain, cultural.
